Study and training at the Landesoberkasse Baden-Württemberg (LOK BW)

The training offered is a three-year course at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg, which is divided into a two-year part at the university itself and a one-year practical phase. During your studies, you will have the status of a civil servant on revocation in the higher non-technical service of the general financial administration. In addition to financial management, you will also focus on real estate and building management as well as personnel management.

After the varied and practice-oriented course, you will have the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Laws degree.

The one-year practical period is divided into four areas, each with a three-month internship. When choosing your practical placements, you should take into account the focus areas mentioned. You can complete the practical training in the area of "Financial Management" at the Landesoberkasse Baden-Württemberg. The practical training as part of the practical study period gives you the opportunity to work in all areas of the Landesoberkasse. The training takes place at the main office in Karlsruhe and, if desired, also in the departments of the branch office in Metzingen

The Landesoberkasse will support you throughout your studies. During this time, you will have a permanent contact person at your disposal.

In the event of later, permanent employment at the Landesoberkasse, you can choose between the areas of responsibility of the two locations for your future job.

The requirements for your application are a general higher education entrance qualification, an entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or an equivalent level of education.

Practical introduction - 2 weeks

Even those who decide to train with the state must first familiarize themselves with their training position, their new colleagues and the working conditions. Introductory course - 5 months

Final training course - 5 months

Before you take your exams, you will deepen your knowledge in the various subject areas in the final course and work through your experiences from the practical training in theory. The lessons in the subjects you are already familiar with will prepare you optimally for your subsequent state examination, but above all for your entry into the professional world.
