Bundesbau Baden-Württemberg plans and implements a wide range of construction projects on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany. The management, based in Freiburg, is a department of the OFD. It manages the state enterprise and supervises the work of six state building construction offices. Together, the operational management and state building construction offices form the Federal Construction Agency.
Bundesbau implements civil and military construction projects in Baden-Württemberg. Its expertise is also in demand for major nationwide projects such as the new building for the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin-Adlershof. The foreign construction department is currently planning around 50 projects worldwide, such as embassy buildings and schools abroad

The area of responsibility also includes art-in-architecture projects, for example for the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe or for the Julius Kühn Institute in Dossenheim

Federal Construction is responsible for numerous special tasks and pools expertise in areas such as sustainable construction, infrastructure management and material security. In the implementation of public building owner tasks, Federal Building makes a significant contribution to building culture.
